Frank and Lyonie Gorsline

In Frank Gorsline’s most recent responsibilities with One Mission Society, he mobilized groups of youth and adults to experience other cultures for 10-30 days. Focusing on Brazil for the past several years, the teams participated in English conversation, evangelistic camps, work projects at OMS-related camps and churches as well as the Maringa orphanage. In follow-up, he had the privilege of counseling and encouraging those whom God is calling into missionary service.

Previously a missionary to Brazil and a North American youth worker for 40 years, Frank has personally confronted young people in universities, Christian colleges, and Bible schools in the United States and Canada, sharing the challenge of missions and encouraging students to become actively involved in cross-cultural programs offered through various mission-sending agencies. Under Frank and Lyonie’s direction, more than 4,000 young people have visited mission fields around the world to serve in short-term capacities. Many of them serve as foreign missionaries today.

Prior to their assignment in Brazil, Frank served as minister of music, education, and youth in churches in Michigan, Washington, California, and Oregon. A graduate of Seattle Pacific University, he has an exceptional tenor voice and has recorded three albums, “Submission,” “Worth the Lamb,” and “Whatever it Takes.”

Frank and Lyonie live in Vancouver, Washington, and continue their ministry of counseling and encouragement to those around them. They have three children, Steve, Teresa and Deanna, who have graduated from college, married, and established households of their own. They have also blessed Frank and Lyonie with eight young adult grandchildren who are in various stages of their higher education.
