Stephen Choi serves as vice president of operations for the International Ministries Department of One Mission Society. In this position, he oversees all international regional directors and assists in the strategic development of field leadership and implementation of field operations.

After attending church all through his childhood and receiving healing from a grave illness while in 5th grade, Stephen accepted Christ during his second year of high school and then shared the Gospel with his parents and brothers, who also became Christians. In his second year of seminary, he contracted tuberculosis and was hospitalized for three years. During that time, God spoke to Stephen about world missions, and after graduation from Seoul Theological University, he began working with Operation Mobilization on their Logos ship. After he married Meeok in 1983, they served together in a variety of mission roles, in Korea, the United States, and Thailand.

Stephen served for 10 years as committee chairman for the Next Generation Leadership Conference of the Korean Evangelical Church of America. He also served as the liaison between the KECA and OMS.

In addition to his degree from Seoul Theological University, Stephen also holds a master’s degree in missions, and he is a candidate for his doctorate in leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary.

Stephen and Meeok have three adult children: daughter Joy and her husband, John Sung, and sons John and Jay.
