Jeff and Courtney Acton

Jeff and Courtney Acton, along with their three children, are following God on a journey to serve in Mozambique, Africa, with One Mission Society. The Actons will serve in Mozambique through multiple ministries. Jeff has a passion to teach and train leaders, believing that leaders surrendered to God bring about significant good in the world. He will help develop leaders in and around the capital city of Maputo through seminary training and supporting local pastors.

The Actons have been involved with youth soccer for the past six years through coaching and team development. They have learned that youth sports are a great way to disciple and mentor kids. They look forward to assisting with the OMS soccer program in Mozambique and seeing the lives of kids changed. Courtney also has a heart for children and adults with special needs. She taught special education in Southern California and has worked as a resource aide for students with learning disabilities. She is excited to work with Helping Hands, OMS Mozambique’s ministry to those with special needs in and around Maputo.

Jeff and Courtney have been married for 14 years. They have each had a heart for missions since high school. For the past 11 years, they have lived in Hanford, California, where Jeff has served as the pastor of Outreach and Missions at Koinonia Church. During that time, they were advocates for missions, led short-term missions teams and partnered with missions and missionaries. They have three children. Coen, age 10, is a soccer fanatic. Addison, age 8, enjoys art and being creative. Eliza, age 7, loves to make everyone laugh.

The Actons want to be obedient to God’s call to make disciples of all people. They want to surrender whatever may hinder this calling. Missionary and writer Elisabeth Elliot once said, “I have one desire now—to live a life of reckless abandon for the Lord, putting all my energy and strength into it.” This, too, is the desire of the Acton family, to embrace a reckless abandon for the glory of God.
