Rob and Melissa Dunn
Rob and Melissa Dunn are so thankful to God to once again feel his strong call pulling them back into full-time missionary service. They serve with One Mission Society in Cap Haitien, Haiti. Rob’s ministry focus is maintenance and construction coordinator. He will also organize and arrange details for visiting teams, teach adult English classes, and assist with leadership development seminars. Melissa’s ministry focus is as assistant to the OMS Haiti field director. She also serves as the liaison between the field director and various ministries, hosts visiting teams, and helps in the maternity/dental clinic and hospital when possible and needed.
The Dunns are originally from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. In 1998, they moved to Erie, Pennsylvania, where, from 1998 to 2006, Rob worked as a sheet metal specialist and Melissa worked as an EFDA (expanded duty dental assistant). Rob was ordained in 2005, and in 2006, they felt God’s call to the mission field. They served as independent missionaries through their church, Millcreek Community Church (MCC), for four years in the Dominican Republic.
They returned to the states in 2010 when Rob took a position as an associate pastor at Millcreek Community Church in Erie. Melissa served with the Women’s Care Center of Erie County, a crisis pregnancy center, ministering to needs of women in crisis situations. In 2014, Rob took a position as senior pastor of a sister church to MCC. In his roles as an associate pastor and senior pastor, Rob has worked extensively in mission outreach. He and Melissa have led over 200 people to the mission fields of Guatemala; Dominican Republic; Haiti; and Sierra Leone, Africa.
God has always blended the varied gifts he’s given Rob and Melissa to form a strong, two-servant team that focuses on building and nurturing strong relationships. They are so excited to see the great things God is going to do through their obedience to his call on their lives as they serve together with their fellow OMS missionaries and the Haitian community!
