Steve and Hannah Skinner
Steve and Hannah Skinner were accepted by OMS in November 2012 as missionaries to Ecuador. They are currently involved in several ministries. Steve is the treasurer for OMS Ecuador, and Hannah is the office manager. In addition, they work alongside and encourage OMS national workers, partnering with them in the Billion.Global Vision to give, over a 10-year period, at least one billion people an opportunity to hear, understand, and believe the Good News of Jesus Christ. Also in partnership with the national coworkers, they are involved with Train & Multiply, a training method for leadership training and church multiplication.
They previously served as coordinators of the OMS Guesthouse in Quito, Ecuador, and with earthquake relief in Manta, Ecuador.
Steve is a missionary kid, born and raised in Ecuador. He lived in Guayaquil, Ecuador, for several years; he also lived at the Guesthouse (formerly the OMS Dorm) for two years of high school while he attended the Alliance Academy. He graduated from Bethel College (Indiana) in 2000 with a degree in business administration. He worked as an insurance agent in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for 10 years. Steve is very happy that the Lord has led him to serve as a missionary to Ecuador.
Hannah was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She has had an interest in missions for a long time. Her grandpa was the pastor of First Christian Union Church, where she attended growing up. It is also the church Steve’s mom attended when she was growing up. That church supported Steve’s family as missionaries for many years. Hannah worked as a hairdresser in Fort Wayne for 12 years and continues to use those skills to bless many people in Ecuador.
Steve and Hannah are members of First Missionary Church in Fort Wayne, where they have attended for more than 10 years. They were previously involved in several leadership positions, including sports ministry, men’s and women’s ministry, small groups, Sunday school, and young families’ ministry.
