Scott and Kathy Murphy
Scott and Kathy Murphy have served in Spain since 1982 as missionaries with One Mission Society. As the international regional director for Europe, Scott visits, encourages, and supervises ministry teams throughout the continent. Kathy serves as the OMS Spain field treasurer. Both Scott and Kathy assist with a church planting project in the northwest of Madrid.
In 1978, Scott received his B.A. degree in psychology from Taylor University. He completed requirements in 1982 for his master of divinity degree in counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. Raised in Brazil by OMS missionary parents, Scott joined OMS as a career missionary in 1981.
Kathy served in Haiti as a single missionary with OMS from 1977 until 1979. Her undergraduate degree from Asbury College is in piano performance. In 1981, she completed her master of arts in religion degree in church music at Asbury Seminary.
Scott and Kathy say of their ministry in Europe, "We are challenged by the tremendous spiritual need in a continent that has seen a massive turning away from its historical Christian roots as more and more people embrace secularism, postmodernism, and atheism. We count it a privilege to have a part in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the spiritually needy people in Spain and across Europe. Our team vision statement is to "Impact Europe for Christ by initiating disciple-making movements among its peoples, multiplying dynamic communities of believers throughout the region."
One Mission Society is an evangelical, interdenominational faith mission that makes disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and supporting missional movements.
