Sharing the Gospel in the Philippines
Nichole Makes an Impact
Nichole Tabamo is the prayer coordinator of campus ministries in the Tarlac province, north of Manila, Philippines, for The Juan Project. The goal of the ministry is to saturate every province throughout the Philippines with the Gospel and with new churches.
Nichole, raised in church, was not following Christ. She realized she was slowly destroying herself and wanted to change, but she didn’t know how to start. Then, a friend introduced her to Jesus, and she surrendered her life to him.
“But God isn’t done with me yet. He used my friend for the second time to deepen the foundation of my faith. She introduced me to a ministry that I never thought I would love so much. I encountered people who brought me closer to the Lord and helped me grow as a person.
“I became part of the OMS Every Community for Christ (ECC) ministry. I was given the role of prayer coordinator in Tarlac Campus Stream. I did not hesitate but was scared at first. I was afraid that I might not be able to cope with the ministry, that there was someone more capable than me. But my friend believed in me and walked alongside me, so I was able to adjust. Who am I to reject the ministry God has entrusted to me?
“The moment I agreed, my life changed, and my perspective in ministry broadened. I got involved in various activities in ECC, met people who would help me get out of my comfort zone. I became more confident, bold, happy, and more in love with Jesus. I learned more about my purpose. I learned to pray for others intentionally. I had a deeper compassion for this generation as I pray for them. The unity, trust, and effort among the team is really wonderful. It fills my heart to see myself changing for the better. It is really important to surround yourself with people who will bring you closer to the Lord. I found a coach, mentor, friend and family in ECC. I will always be thankful that I am part of this team.”
By engaging Nichole, her friend has touched many lives through her. That is the goal of OMS: To engage the one to reach the many.
