Gemma Wanted to Die
New Hope for Young Spanish Woman
Gemma’s life was full of disappointments and loneliness. She had anxiety attacks, which led to depression and wanted to die because nothing was going well for her.
Gemma, a young Spanish woman, grew up regularly attending Catholic services with her grandmother in Spain. As a teenager, she began to search for answers, but no one could provide the answers to her questions.
In school, she sought out friendships with others who wanted to live a good life, so she confronted her “friends” for their bad behavior. Her classmates abandoned her.
Gemma was sad and alone and did not want to live anymore.
She desperately wanted a relationship with God but didn’t know where to begin.
One day, Erick, who attends an OMS Peace and Hope church, shared the Good News of Jesus with her and invited her to church. At first, it was strange for her to go to a church meeting with people she didn’t know, but she soon decided to follow Christ.
Now, Gemma enjoys the joy of salvation, witnessing to her family that she is “God’s child, whom God loves, and that is enough.” Gemma tells her family that she sees God through the people in the church and that she is surrounded by people who love her. Her sadness has transformed into happiness.
In February 2020, Gemma got baptized and actively participates in evangelistic events in the city. She wants to serve the Lord and is currently being trained to be a health care worker so that she can serve God and others.
