Faithful in the Valley
When Every Day Is Difficult
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everyday life has been difficult for Ranji* and his family.
Besides serving as a bi-vocational pastor, overseeing 12 churches in his area in South Asia, he has worked as a day laborer, planting crops in a small field to later sell at the market. On brighter days, Ranji would preach to those who bought his vegetables.
He also used to visit people regularly in their homes to share the Gospel in the evenings. COVID has changed everything drastically. Today, the village is on lockdown and has been for many months. People don’t go outside; no one purchases vegetables from him; so, therefore, he has little money.
In recent days, it has been nearly impossible for him to provide sufficient food for his family. But even amidst these difficult days, Ranji never stopped praying and sharing the Gospel among his nearest neighbors.
The Lord has answered Ranji’s prayers through the generosity of his people.
Because of the support of OMS donors, our partners in South Asia were able to provide food assistance to Ranji and other bi-vocational pastors and families in need. Now, Pastor Ranji’s family enjoys three meals a day. They can also properly wash up as the sanitization kits provided will protect them from virus transmission.
